Nurse Brooke :P

If you haven't heard already...I got into the nursing program at OWATC!!!! Finally!! I want to convey through this post how badly I've wanted this and how hard I have worked for this for YEARS. I have wanted to be a nurse since the 7th grade and that goal has stuck with me since. I have worked my ASS off in school by completing all my prerequisites and getting my Associate's degree, and I've worked as a CNA for over four years for the experience. The nursing programs are very competitive and hard to get into. I've been turned down and rejected a few times in the past and have definitely had my moments of discouragement, but I just kept at it and kept working towards that goal. Now all that hard work has FINALLY paid off and I will be starting school August 13!!! I found out Thursday afternoon right before work; I was called and told that someone had dropped out and I was the next in line. When she asked if I wanted the open position, I had to contain the "happy screams" that were bubbling inside, and instead I calmly told her 'I would love to' haha! Needless to say, I was walking on air the rest of the day at work! It still feels too good to be true though...like I'll wake up any minute now and realize It was all a dream. But it's not and I'm so happy! My next steps will then be to sell my housing contract in Logan and cancel all my USU classes and such. THEN get all my information and things ready for Orientation. THEN buy all of my books for the school year, which will end up costing me nearly $1000. Yep. That's right. I'll be paying $1000 for BOOKS...more expensive than Fall semester's tuition. Buuuuttt...I'm not complaining. Haha!! Things are finally starting to fall into place and life is amazing at the moment! :)
