Let me start off by saying I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays! I only had two days off and actually had to work Christmas day so things were a bit different this year, but I enjoyed spending time with the fam.
Also, as many of you know I have finally finished up school and I started my "externship" shadowing MA's at Family Practice clinics. I have experienced a lot already and have been able to see and so some really cool stuff. Everyone has been saying, "So you just take them back in the room and find out why they're there and get their vitals right?" Uhh no, I do so much more than that! I have drawn and centrifuged blood for various tests, swabbed and tested for strep throat, performed urinalysis and hemoglobin testing, ran an EKG, drawn up and administered immunizations and other shots, assisted in pap smears and ultrasounds, and much much more!
It's exciting and there's rarely a dull moment, although at the end of the day my back and my feet hurt so bad! This past Thursday I worked a day in Instacare and that was probably my favorite spot so far. My LEAST favorite thing to do is give shots to kids, which sucks because this whole week i'll be working in the PEDS unit at the Budge Clinic in Logan. Some days are better than others, but I try to stay positive because in less than 3 weeks i'll be completely done :D !!!
Next, I think I need to mention....IM GOING TO ASIA IN EXACTLY ONE MONTH!! Yes, yes...I mention this in every post but it's an exciting thing so who wouldn't?! I think about it every day and have been counting down for awhile!
And when i'm not working or training, Im either watching Vampire Diaries, looking up stuff on Asian culture and fun stuff to do while there, or wasting time on FB and sleep : D
