However, this Thanksgiving started out differently. My brother Brad's former best friend all while growing up was found dead Thanksgiving morning. Andy used to be over at our house all the time back in the day and him and Brad were inseperable. The last few years they haven't been as close and hadn't been talking as much as they used to, but when my family found out we were all heartbroken. I just kept thinking..he can't be gone, he has a daughter, he had such a contagious smile....It doesn't seem fair when someone so young passes away. There have been so many deaths lately and it really gets to me. Im a pretty emotional person Ill admit and cried a lot for Andy.
Needless to say, Thanksgiving wasn't as fun and happy as it usually is for me. However, I tried really hard to be thankful for the friends and family I still have in my life and all my many blessings.
We first went to my grandparents Maher (my moms side of the family) and ate lots of turkey and rolls and potatoes there. Delicious! Its always good to see my Uncle Rj (who looks exactly like Robert DeNiro btw) and his wife Wendy and their daughter Britany. Thats all the family we have on that side of the family but I love them all so much that its enough.

After eating, we all noticed a lady outside who had stopped in front of my grandparents house and was smoking her cigarette and staring at my brother's car. I don't want to sound mean but...she seemed a bit hookerish or was possibly just really drunk, or both. My uncle went out to talk to her and she asked him "is that your car right there?" He said no thats my nephew Brad's car. She says "Oh...thwell, is he single?" Haha we all had a really good laugh about it.

After that we went over to my Aunt Judy's to celebrate with my dad's side of the family. My mom's and dad's side of the family are complete opposites! We have so many cousins, aunts, uncles, second cousions, etc on my dad's side that I sometimes forget the names of a couple haha. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see my Flanery cousins or Aunt Mitzi but I was able to hold my cousin's newborn baby Adalyn! She was so precious! I also was able to witness the most intense ping pong match between my dad and my Aunt Tami. My aunt Tami is one of the coolest people I know, as well as the funniest, the most caring, etc etc...I really love my aunt Tami so just seeing her made my day so much better! They are both really competitive so it was hilarious to see them play ping pong. Even my 85-year old grandma got up to play haha!

I also have an adopted cousin named Temis, he is the most ADORABLE little guy you'll ever see! I was surprised at how not shy he was when he asked me and by bro and sis to play "guess the card" game when you put it on your head and they describe whats on it to you. It was so funny because Temis insisted that he wore the lollipop card the whole time, and I wore the unicorn card. Everything that came outta his mouth was hilarious I love that little guy!
