Times are a changin'
It has been two years since I've graduated high school and A LOT of things have changed. Looking back, I remember how excited I was to graduate and move out and go to college and meet new people; I was SOO excited to finally be out in the "real" world. Well, i've been out in the real world for two years now and while there has been a lot of good, I sometimes wish I was back in high school. Not that I particularly enjoyed high school that much, but everything back then was so much more predictable and safe. I came home every day to a family who loved me, I didn't have much responsibility, and the choices I made weren't that life-changing. Whats my life like now? Nearly every day I hear about someone I went to high school either getting married, divorced, pregnant, or dying. I work hard for my own money and have to motivate myself in school because no one is going to notice or care if I don't go to class and study. People I work with and go to school with don't know or care about me automatically like my family does. Time is going by so fast ever since I graduated...its crazy how the months fly by. Change is really hard I have decided. It can be really good but it really does take you out of your safety bubble. But I guess I should count my blessings and look at the positives....what has changed for the better in my life since high school? I have met new people and made new friends, some of which will be lifelong friends of mine. I have fallen in love with an amazing guy. I have two years of college under my belt and like to think i've gained a lot of knowledge. I have become closer to my family. I have experienced new things and learned lessons and have made goals that have helped my personal growth. I still defnitely have room for improvement but I learn more and grow more each every year
