Wow the last two weeks have been a whirlwind of stress and
chaos…but, I mean that in the best possible way! It still seems a bit surreal
that I’m actually in the nursing program, and although its been really fast-paced
and stressful, I love it! I love the
instructors and how passionate they are about their jobs and how badly they
want us to succeed. The other students in the program are incredibly smart and
have such different backgrounds and everyone seems really cool so far.
We cover A LOT of
information in lectures and I’ve already had two tests! I got a 90% on my first
test and 89% on my second test and I’m definitely happy with those scores. This
week we’ve been focusing more on practicing and passing off simple skills, such
as taking someone’s blood glucose and range of motions exercises and bed baths.
My final pass-offs are tomorrow morning, wish me luck!!
I’ll also be starting clinicals the first week or two of
October and I went to the Ogden VA for orientation. Can’t wait for clinicals!
The uniform is a solid red scrub top and black bottoms….perfect combo haha my
favorite colors!
This past weekend I was lucky enough to go camping with some
friends in Lava Hot Springs for my friend Aubrey’s 23rd birthday! It
was so nice to get away and have fun with some friends. Saturday night was
crazy and exciting, and Sunday morning was spent swimming at Lava and going
down the big slides and then relaxing in the hot pots.
I’m excited to go to the fair tomorrow, too and have some
fun before having to work all weekend.
