Basshunter/Global Deejays RAVE May 1, 2010

So I finally went to my first rave this past saturday and wow! it was definitely interesting...but not for me. In the past I've been so against raves and have said I would never go to raves cause I thought they were SO stupid and that they were just the flavor of the week. I thought of it as just the new place to go to get messed up and for horny older guys to get on 14-year old whores. While I still believe thats half true, I'm not AS against them as I used to be. I started entertaining the idea of going this past year because all of Brandon's friends go and I always hang out with them and thought "well, maybe I'll go one of these times and just experience one." That time came when Brandon's friend Erich got home this past week from Iraq ad wanted to go to a rave before he left again. Since Erich was going, EVERYONE was going, and so I decided THE DAY OF to go. I also thought, "Global Deejays and Basshunter have some great songs that i'll actually know." SO YES, I went. I don't want to hear any "I told you so's." I'm sorry for being so anti-rave in the past. I now believe some people actually go FOR the music. Up above is a picture a photographer took of us and put up on partyutah.com and while I look DISGUSTING and look like i'm prego, I still love this pic of all of us :D it makes me happy. Now that i've already typed a huge paragraph, let me tell you how the night went. We left BC around 5:30 and drove to SLC in two different vehicles. Vehicle 1- Eric, Adam, Brad, Mikey, Roru...Vehicle 2- Me, Brandon, Fatty, Kody. We met up in an empty parking lot very close to the Salt Palace. We walked around for about an hour before we finally found the entrance. When we got in, the place was HUGE and it didn't have that many people. We sat on the bleachers and then Mikey started giving a few people light shows. HIS LIGHT SHOWS ARE AMAZING!! He has gloves with lights in the fingertips and he blows peoples minds. He is very popular at raves :) haha. Me and Brandon walked around a bit and got some light shows from random people and just listened to the music. I met a couple people who were rolling and when I said it was my first rave they were more than happy to gimme some cute bracelets. This one girl I was talking to was rolling balls and she started talking to me really fast and was moving so fast and I just thought it was the funniest thing! Another girl asked me to blow some vix into her eyes and apparently she kept looking at me like she wanted to makeout with me or something (Brandon told me this on the way home). LOTS of people making out, LOTS of really young girls in lingerie, LOTS of gross dudes, LOTS of people rolling and LOTS of throw up. Overall, it wasn't the best rave. I heard it was going to be really hot but I was shivering the entire 6 hours and was so hungry and so ready to leave an hour before we actually did. The place was huge compared to the amount of people actually there and Basshunter was booed offstage for talking too much. However, it was okay. It was very interesting and kind of fun to peoplewatch and the music was awesome. Highlight of the night: Me and Brandon holding hands and walking to the exits to the San Francisco song the last few minutes of Global Deejays. It was a cute moment.I'll probably go to deadmau5 because I love deadmau5 but that will most likely be my last rave.
